Karen Henning Heuberger, 56, of Muskego, WI, died peacefully on May 28, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 3, 1968 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Alexander) Henning. Karen married the love of her life, Jim Heuberger, on November 11, 2006 at St. Gregory Church, in Milwaukee. She was the proud mother of Maggie and Eli, attending all of their events and loving them with all her heart.

She attended school at Brother Dutton Grade School and Beloit Catholic High School in Beloit. She received her Bachelor and Masters degrees at Washington University in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Leonard Church in Muskego.

Karen spent much of life prior to her marriage doing volunteer work, both in and out of the U.S. and working for several non-profits. After her children were born, she continued part-time working for the marginalized of this world through non-profits. While working at Dismas Prison ministries, she co-authored a book for the families of the incarcerated, KEEPING HOPE. She volunteered at St. Leonard’s school and parish in many different ways. Her life was always focused on helping others: family, friends and especially those who were in need of justice.

Karen liked family gatherings, travel, games, Christian contemporary music, the paranormal, and TV shows.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jim Heuberger, her children Maggie and Eli. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Jane Heuberger; siblings, Sister Anita Henning, Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, of Briggsville, WI; Donald (Anne) Henning, Edward (Leila) Henning, Walter Henning, Paula (Frank) Hummer, Roberta Henning, Lori (Tim) Taylor, all of Beloit; Bev (Rod) McCullick of Mansfield, TX; sister-in-law, Sue (Tom) Hermann and numerus nieces and nephews.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, her father-in-law (Richard Heuberger); her nephews John Paul Henning, Kyle Zachary Sherrod and Joseph Robert Hummer,

Karen’s faith was the center of her life. She shared it willingly with others. Her favorite sayings were, “God is good. All the time.” And “God will provide.” Those who followed her Caring Bridge heard those phrases consistently. She taught others how to live in peace with what life brought and, in the end, how to die in peace.
