In Loving Memory of Karen J Palasz
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Jean Palasz, a loving wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and treasured friend, who left us peacefully on August 10th at the age of 78.
Karen was the heart of her family; her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love shaped the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, James Palasz, her two children, Christopher (Kerissa) Foster and Marnie Allen, stepmom to Nick Palasz and Jenne (Ross) Meyer. Adored grandchildren, nicknamed “Grammy’s Angels”, Morgan, Serena, Kallie, and Delaney, who were the light of her life. She was known as Grandma Karen to Madison, Dylan, and Weston. Her sister Barbara in Vacaville, CA, was also a beloved friend and confidant, as well as a longtime best friend of 70 years, Nancy Mineau. Preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Dorthy Ruesch, and her granddaughter, Grace Allen.
Her home was always open, her table always full, especially with her homemade baked goods. Whether it was a favorite published recipe or one of her own creations, Karen found joy in baking for her family and friends.
Family was at the center of everything Karen did. Her greatest joy came from time spent with loved ones—gathering for holidays, sharing stories around the dining room table, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. She shared this joy in her final moments, surrounded by a room full of friends and family to the very end.
She was also a passionate gardener, finding peace and fulfillment amongst her flower gardens. Her flowers were a reflection of her spirit, colorful, nurturing, and full of life.
Karen worked in many positions at a wealth management firm, an event planning company, and she even owned her own business, Cable Car Gifts, for several years. Her inspiration behind Cable Car Gifts was her love for travel, and specifically for San Francisco. She visited there often, but also enjoyed Montreal, Paris, Seattle, and Catalina Island, home of the Catalina Jazz Festival.
The family would like to thank the staff at Franciscan Villa Memory Care and St Croix Hospice for the wonderful care, love, and support they provided.
A service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held on the 29th of August at St Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church, 6101 S 51st St, Greendale, WI 53129, with visitation from 10 am to 11 am and service beginning at 11 am.
She will be forever in our hearts; her love will continue to bloom in every flower, every shared meal, and every moment of togetherness.
