Kathleen A. Macak, “Kathy”, passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving behind a life marked by love, gentleness, and devotion to her family and friends. Kathy was born on June 1, 1942, to William and Evelyn Murphy Jones.
Those who knew her remember her as a loving and gentle woman with a warm spirit, a bubbly personality, and an innocence that made her especially endearing to everyone around her. She was a good conversationalist and had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcome in her presence.
Kathy married the love of her life, Allan, in Milwaukee on September 17, 1963. Together they built a family and a home filled with care, laughter, and devotion. Family was always Kathy’s greatest achievement, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her life was centered on the people who mattered most to her, and she took great pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.Kathy’s working years included time spent cooking at the seminary, a role that suited her nurturing nature and her gift for caring for others. She later went on to work for American Family, where she retired after many years of service. Through every stage of her life, she brought dedication and grace to her work, just as she did in her home and in her relationships.
Kathy had many interests that reflected her creativity and love of simple pleasures. She loved to bake and cook, and her house always smelled wonderful because of the meals and treats she prepared. She also enjoyed crafts, needlepoint, and painting ornaments with her children, creating memories that her family will cherish forever. Patio time with her friends was another favorite part of her life, and she valued the laughter, conversation, and companionship that came with those gatherings. In recent years, she also became a Brewers fan, embracing the joy of cheering for her team.
Family gatherings were especially important to Kathy, and she found happiness in bringing people together. She had a natural way of making a home feel inviting and full of love. Her presence at family events, holidays, and everyday moments will be deeply missed. The traditions she nurtured and the memories she created will remain a lasting part of her family’s story.
Kathy is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Charlie) Spillane, and Kathryn (Stephen) Romanowich; her grandchildren, Jessica (James), Lindsay, Zachary, and Aja; great-grandson, Bach; sister, Mary (Jimmy)Heinzel; and her in-laws, Jan & Rich Romanowich. She was preceded in death by her husband Allan, siblings David and Judy, and parents, William and Evelyn Murphy Jones.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Visitation will be held at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHRUCH (9520 Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners) on DATE from 9:30 until 10:45 AM will a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Milwaukee
