Kathleen Starkl (née Fallon), born on February 10, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully into heaven with her daughter by her side on July 2, 2025, at the age of 77. A lifelong resident of Milwaukee, Kathleen was known for dedicating her life to her family and her dearest friends.
Kathleen spent her early education at Humboldt Park Elementary School before graduating from St. Mary's Academy in 1966. She met the love of her life at her first job, and married John Starkl in 1967.
Kathleen cherished her time growing up at the cabin on Lake Puckaway, and spent many summers there with her grandparents, "Hank and Aggie", later sharing it with her own family. She loved all the adventures her family would take her on: vacations, musicals, festivals, and road trips with her daughter. She formed lifelong friendships from her many years of involvement with the Lake Band. She was deeply proud of her Irish heritage, and she looked forward to volunteering at Milwaukee's Irish Fest each year.
She will be remembered for her love of all animals. She felt strongly about supporting animal rescue and took in numerous cats throughout her life. She always enjoyed feeding the birds and other wildlife that came to rely on her for their regular meals. Kathleen had a way with words, some strong opinions, and if you could accept her as she was, you had her love and trust forever. She loved deeply, prayed hard, and relied heavily on her faith. St. Francis was special to her, being the patron saint of animals. Her family and friends meant everything to her, and she always maintained close contact with them.
Kathleen is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, John Starkl; daughter, Kelly Woznicki (David); grandchildren, Bennett and Alana Chansky, Bethany Woznicki, Anh (Toua) Hang; special cousins and friends, Bobby and Tommy Sadowski; many cousins in the Fallon and Goral families; and a brother, Patrick Fallon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Dorothy Fallon, and her grandparents, Henry and Agnes Goral.
In accordance with Kathleen's wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her.
