Lanette Jacquelynn Gincer, 43, passed away peacefully in her home on January 13th, 2026, surrounded and loved by her family. After a courageous battle with small cell lung cancer, she found peace. Diagnosed in July of 2025, Lanette met each moment of her journey with inspiring grace, remarkable strength, and an unbreakable spirit, qualities that defined her in every chapter of her life.
Lanette was known for her openness, creativity, and the ease with which she connected to others. People were naturally drawn to her warmth and sincerity; she made friends easily, made people feel at home, and was someone others relied on more than she even realized. Lanette lived with her heart open to the world. She found joy in music, art, and nature, and felt happiest outside under the sun. She worked for the Penworthy Company for over 10 years, where she was admired for her dedication and knowledge. She had a deep care and respect for the earth, and was always mindful of protecting the environment. Pearl Jam held a special place in her heart, but her love for music embraced every sound and style, and she was always ready for a concert or festival. She loved creating, whether painting, crafting, writing, or learning a new instrument, and approached everything with curiosity and imagination. She was whimsical, spiritual, and intuitive, and had a rare way of seeing the world that inspired those around her. She found beauty and magic in everything and everyone. Her greatest joy was being an incredible mother to her daughter, Kalijah, pouring every bit of her heart into raising her with love and care.
Lanette is survived and cherished by her daughter, Kalijah Gincer; her siblings, Lisa Fasciano, Damian Driscoll, and Stephen Gincer; her aunt, Joyce Gincer; her nieces and nephews, Erica, Julia, Savannah, and Summer; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Ellie and Evan; her dog, Piper; and many friends who loved her dearly. She is reunited in nature with her mother, Diane D. Driscoll, and her father, Stephen F. Gincer.
A memorial service to celebrate Lanette’s life will be held on Friday, February 6th, at Max A. Sass & Sons, 4747 S. 60th St, Greenfield, WI 53220. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by the service at 7:00 PM. Guests are invited to join family and friends downstairs afterward to share memories and enjoy refreshments.
From one of Lanette’s favorite poems, Love Letter from the Afterlife by Andrea Gibson: “Dying is the opposite of leaving... I'm more with you than I ever was before.”
