Larry Bert Hackney, 75, of South Milwaukee passed away on May 16, 2026, at Azura Memory Care in Oak Creek.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth (West). Father of Marcus (Maggie), Father-in-Law of Amy Mohr who is the mother of grandchildren Brooklyn and Cole Hackney. Brother of Rebecca (Ronald) Dublinski. Brother-in-law of James (Barbara) West. Further survived by Nieces and Nephew.

Larry attended Oak Creek High School for 3 years and graduated from Greendale High School in 1969. He then attended UW-Stevens Point for 2 years and graduated from UW-Parkside in 1973.

Larry married Mary Beth Hackney in 1972.

He worked for Cooper Industries in Franksville, WI for 35 years.

Golden Retrievers were a big part of Larry’s life. So were Civil War and Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) re-enacting. Family vacations always included visiting Civil War battlefields.

Memorial visitation will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery Chapel, 3801 W. Morgan Ave, Milwaukee, WI on Thursday, May 28th from 12:30 PM to until time of service at 1:30 PM. A private interment will take place at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 3801 W. Morgan Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.

Much appreciation for the teamwork care he received from Azura Memory Care in Oak Creek during the past 5 ½ years and later with the help of St. Croix Hospice in Oak Creek for the past 2 ½ years.
