Laura L Gruszewski

Laura L. Gruszewski, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on the first day of 1943, Laura's life was a tapestry of cherished moments, loving relationships, and a deep appreciation for the beauty in the world around her.

Laura's journey began in Milwaukee, where she was not only born but also where she blossomed into the compassionate and caring individual. On May 28, 1966, Laura married the love of her life, Gerald Gruszewski, in a beautiful ceremony in Milwaukee. 

She was the proud mother to her daughters, Cheryl (RD), and Chrissy (Steven). Laura's joy was multiplied with the birth of her granddaughter, Isabelle, who became one of the lights of her life. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol (Louie), brother-in-law Gene, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Laura was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald, Jeanette & Orville, and her sister-in-law, Joan.

Laura's professional life was marked by her tenure as an Administrative Assistant at Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She took pride not only in her work but also in her Irish heritage, which she celebrated with enthusiasm and pride.

Laura will be remembered for her love of crochet and needlework. Her hands were rarely still, as they were often busy creating intricate patterns and designs that she lovingly shared with those around her. Laura had a passion for landscaping the vibrant flower gardens that surrounded her home, bringing joy to everyone who passed by. Door County and Mackinaw Island held special places in her heart, and she cherished travel on cruise ships where she created memories in those picturesque locales.

Visitation at the MAX A. SASS & SONS MISSION HILLS CHAPEL (8910 W Drexel Ave., Franklin, WI) on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Laura’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
