Leigh Bernard Perry, age 84, passed away on July 25, 2026, surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Leigh was born on December 16, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Army, where he served as a Combat Medic and attained the rank of Specialist. After his military service, Leigh dedicated many years to route driving and was a proud member of the Teamsters Trucking Union for over 30 years.

Those who knew Leigh understood that he valued family, friendships, and the activities that brought him great enjoyment. He and Darlene shared many adventures traveling on road trips throughout the country, building a lifetime of memories together. He enjoyed spending time at the gun club, shooting sporting clays, and competing in trap shooting tournaments. Leigh took great pride in caring for their home and yard, especially keeping his lawn looking its best. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their sporting events and was always there to celebrate their accomplishments. Playing poker with friends and family was one of Leigh’s favorite pastimes and something he truly enjoyed.

Leigh will also be remembered for the little things that made him uniquely him - like always carrying Milk-Bones in his pockets, ensuring that every dog he met quickly became his friend. He had a special bond with his late hunting dog, King, and continued to enjoy the companionship of their dog, Bodhi, who was always happy to be by his side.

Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 43 years, Darlene; his sister, Kathy (Dalton) Rohlfing and her husband, Alan Rohlfing; his children, Rochelle Sterling (Brian Wargolet), Brian Perry, Jackie (David) Kastel, Dana (Heather) Hyde, Tracy (John) Hooper, and Jamie (Jason) Abbott; and his many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a source of great pride and joy throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Perry (Diana Saldivar); his grandson, Michael Sterling; and numerous beloved relatives and friends.

Leigh will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. He took pride in sharing his knowledge and experiences, always willing to lend a hand or show someone how to do something. He leaves behind a lasting legacy through the love he shared, the wisdom he passed on, and the countless memories that will be treasured by his family and friends for years to come.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Leigh on Thursday, August 27, 2026, for visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community, 9520 W. Forest Home Avenue, Hales Corners. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., followed by military honors at the church.
