Sopa, Leonard G. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 21, 2014 at the age of 89. Leonard was born on May 9, 1924 in Amherst, WI to the late Joseph and Johanna (nee Konkol). Beloved husband of Grace (nee Gostomski) for 63 years. Dear father of Christine, David (Janet), Brenda (Steven) Pogorzelski, Glen (Sharon) and Mark (Brenda). Loving grandpa of Scott (Ashley), Gregory (Jessica), Dale, Danny, Matthew, Megan and Madeline Sopa; Sari and Andrew Pogorzelski. Soon to be great-grandpa. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bernard, Zigmond and Edwin, sisters Chesterine Dombrowski and Evelyn Rusch. Survived by his brother Henry and his sisters Jeanette Patoka, Emily Rascka and Lucy Baldewicz. Further survived by many Sopa/Gostomski relatives and dear friends. Leonard retired from AO Smith after 34 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran in World War II and a member of the H.A. Todd Jr. American Legion Post #537. One of Leonard's fondest memories was participating in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. Visitation at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel on Friday, January 24 from 4-8 pm. Vigil Service at 6:30 pm. Additional visitation on Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3100 S.41st St., from 10-10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
