On October 19, 2025 our beloved uncle, LeRoy J. Lewandowski, earned his wings at the age of 97.
He was born on January 10, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI to John J. and Anna (nee Supan) Lewandowski. They preceded him in death along with his sisters Constance Lewandowski and Cecilia Trobec and brother-in-law James Trobec, Sr.
He leaves behind his nieces and nephew Rosemary Overman, Kathleen Brewster, Nancy White, Jacqueline Schoenfelder, James Trobec, Jr., and Jane Deppert; his Godson Jacob Overman; 11 grand nieces and nephews and 14 great-great grand nieces and nephews.
LeRoy served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for a short state side tour and in the WI National Guard Unit 128.
He enjoyed watching the Packers, old movies, and westerns.
As a very knowledgeable engineer, LeRoy was employed for many years by General Motors in the electronics division of Delco and he also worked on the Apollo Space Craft Project.
Private family services for LeRoy were held at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home. Burial took place at Mount Olivet Cemetery with Military Honors.
We are truly grateful for the loving care given to him by the staffs at Aurora St Luke’s Hospital, Hales Corners Care Center, The Woods, and Aurora Zilber Family Hospice. We were touched by the guidance and professionalism from Max A. Sass Funeral Home and staff.
Thank you to Marianne, Christine, John, Karen, Basil and LeRoy’s neighbors as well as others that shared friendships with our uncle LeRoy.
