Margaret “Peggy” Mary McBriarty, of Greenfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on November 1, 1941, in Elgin, Illinois, Peggy dedicated her life to caring for others — both in her professional work and in the countless personal connections she formed throughout her life. She began her career as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, a role she held with compassion and grace until the birth of her first child. Later, she continued her commitment to service as a devoted volunteer with District U-46, where she eventually retired after many fulfilling years.
Peggy was the beloved mother of Sean, Kevin, and Patricia (Michael Dresen), and the proud grandmother of Ashley, Charles, Erin (Blake Lothert), Marshall, and Louise. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and enduring partnership.
Known for her warmth, humor, and generous spirit, Peggy found joy in life’s simple pleasures — baking, playing BINGO, coloring, volunteering, and spending cherished time with friends from all walks of life. Her ability to connect with others, no matter their background, was one of her most treasured gifts.
Peggy’s legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion to family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St Mary’s Church in Elgin, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
