Margaret E. Slock passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on January 17, 1951, she was the beloved daughter of Michael and Shirley (Hewitt) Riley, and she grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. Her childhood was filled with the camaraderie of her siblings, Tim (Linda), Helen (Jim), Tom (Gaby), Colleen, Maureen, Katie, Dan, Pete (Dorothy), Bridgid, and Kenny (Karen). Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Mike, Mary, and John, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.

On March 25, 1972, Margaret's life was beautifully intertwined with that of Douglas, her devoted husband of 53 years. Their love story was one of mutual respect, unwavering support, and shared dreams. Together, they welcomed their son, Douglas II and their daughter Nicole. Margaret's role as a grandmother to Parker, Riley, Gracelyn, and Aidan was one she cherished.

Margaret's professional life was marked by her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to form lasting connections through her work. Her colleagues and peers knew her as a dedicated and passionate individual. Margaret was the support system for her family spending 20 years of her marriage as the wife of a US Marine. She crisscrossed the country with her family providing home stability during multiple overseas deployments.

Bird watching, particularly hummingbirds, was one of Margaret's treasured pastimes. Her garden was a place where her roses bloomed under her care, reflecting the beauty with which she lived her life. Margaret's love for jigsaw puzzles mirrored her methodical nature, each piece a step closer to revealing the whole picture, much like the way she approached life's challenges. She was a force of nature, her enthusiasm for life was infectious and her presence in any room undeniable. Her loyalty and devotion to her family and friends were unwavering.

Visitation at the MAX A. SASS & SONS MISSION HILLS CHAPEL (8910 W Drexel Ave., Franklin, WI 53132) on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. A private burial will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
