Marie L. Kuntz, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, with her family by her side. Born on February 15, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marie was a beacon of kindness and generosity who deeply touched the lives of all who knew her.
Marie is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Bob, whose love and laughter perfectly complemented her gentle spirit. Her children, who she was immensely proud of; Rachel Kuntz, Joe Kuntz (Jan Baker), and Robin (Rick) Hankins will keep the lessons she taught them in their hearts forever. Her grandchildren, Carter, Landon, Zoe, and Brady, whom she adored, all brought her profound joy and fulfillment.
Marie is further survived by her brothers, Jim Sheahan and Tom (Carol) Sheahan along with many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elva (Dobberpuhl) Sheahan, her brother William “Putz” (late Vie) Sheahan, sisters Ellen (late Jim) Mahoney, Judy Parkinson, and nephew Paul Sheahan.
For 25 years, Marie faithfully served as the church secretary at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, where her selflessness and loving nature left a lasting impact on countless people. Marie sang in the choir and was an avid quilter with the church quilting group. These beautiful quilts were donated to several organizations and helped many in need. Her commitment to her faith and community was evident in her daily interactions, always marked by patience, compassion, and grace.
Marie often reminisced about her cherished childhood memories spent at Fox Lake with her beloved parents, and siblings. Those moments of love and warmth shaped the foundation she carried into her own family life.
A devoted homemaker, Marie found great joy in cooking—always making enough food to feed an army, gardening—especially tending to her beautiful roses, quilting, knitting, crafting, and taking part in all of her children's and grandchildren's activities. She treasured time spent with her family and poured her heart into creating meaningful memories.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Marie’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through the beautiful quilts and handcrafted items she created, the incredible recipes she shared, and the countless treasured moments spent with friends and family, including her beloved grand dogs, Tess, Remi, and Piper.
Marie’s life was a testament to the power of love and selflessness. While she will be deeply missed, her life will not be forgotten. She gave us all so much to remember.
