A dedicated husband, Mark leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Kathy (nee: George), with whom he shared a life full of love and cherished memories. Their union, which began on a beautiful autumn day, October 23, 1982, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, was a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other. His brother, Dale, and sister-in-law, Mary, his nephew Myron, as well as a host of cousins and friends, will fondly remember Mark's gentle spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and June (Laine) Pocian, his stepfather, Jack, and his brothers, Glenn and Danny.
Mark was a Vietnam Veteran and he proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps until his honorable discharge. Mark's professional life as an Electrical Engineer was marked by diligence and a passion for innovation. His contributions to his field were significant, and he was equally involved in his professional community, always willing to lend his expertise and guide his peers.
An avid golfer, Mark's love for the game was only matched by his skill as a fisherman, especially when it came to reeling in walleye. He cherished the simplicity of camping and the tranquility of summers spent at Natures Villa in Palmyra. There, he would revel in the warmth of campfires, often accompanied by the distant cheers of a baseball game, a pastime that brought him immense joy.
Sports were a significant part of Mark's life, his enthusiasm for college football was contagious, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams with fervor. His adeptness extended beyond the sporting realm into being remarkably handy around the house. Mark was always the first to offer his help with home projects, approaching each task with patience and precision.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Mark would describe him as soft-spoken, a man whose actions spoke louder than his words. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always there for those in need, never seeking anything in return.
Mark's legacy is one of love, kindness, and humility. His impact on the world is indelible, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to his loved ones.
