Marvella Mae Szuta

Marvella Mae Szuta, born on April 26, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, surrounded by her loving family.

Marvella was a devoted homemaker who dedicated herself to providing childcare and working in retail department stores throughout her life. She grew up on the south side of Milwaukee before making her home in Oak Creek in 1980, where she continued to nurture the bonds of family and community.

Known for her happy-go-lucky personality, Marvella brought joy to those around her and was always eager to help her family. Her love extended to her remarkable baking skills, where she excelled at making breads, pies, and cookies that delighted family and friends alike.

Marvella is survived by her loving children: Matthew (Pauline), James (the late Laurie), and Renea (Edward) Datz. She was a beloved grandmother to Nicole, Jamie, Jeffrey, Chelise, Spencer, Samantha, Adam, and Jason. As a cherished great-grandma, she doted on Savannah, Layla, Gianna, Nathanial, Miley, Jack, Margo, Hattie, Farrah, Christian, John, Cody, McKenna, Brian, and Kaylea. She is further survived by her sister Gloria Lee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Luella, her husband, Joseph Szuta, her son, Joseph Szuta, her daughter-in-law, Karen, and her granddaughter, Susie.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on January 16, 2026, at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Greenridge Chapel, located at 4747 S. 60th Street, Greenfield, WI 53220. The visitation is scheduled from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by the funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM and concluding at 4:00 PM. The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for the compassionate care they provided. 

Marvella's legacy of love and positivity will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
