Melvin J. Blaszczyk passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 10, 2026, at the age of 84. He was the most beloved husband of Sandra Blaszczyk (nee Grams) for 60 years and the loving and proud father of Scott (Noël) Blaszczyk. He was the "Super Proud" Papa of Zachary and Jacob, and dearest brother of Arlene (the late Glen) Paetsch, Shirley (Paul) Raszeja, and Linda (the late Dennis) Daniels. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Blaszczyk; his siblings, Jerry, Ervin, Kenneth "Kenny," Laverne "Dolly," Virginia "Virgie," and Patricia "Patsy"; and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Raveny “Ronnie” Grams all of whom he loved dearly. He is further survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, friends, and his sweet "Lola-Baby".
After many years, Melvin retired from Miller Brewing Company. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, playing golf, and maintaining his beautiful yard with Sandi. In his free time he enjoyed watching old cowboy movies and television shows. He and Sandi enjoyed traveling, bus trips to the casino, and bingo. He was also well known for making his famous Whiskey Old Fashioneds for family at holiday gatherings. Halloween and Holiday parties hosted by Melvin and Sandi will forever be remembered, they cherished time spent with family. He never missed his grandchildren’s sporting events or school activities, and he loved playing Santa for them at Christmas time. He also loved watching and occasionally attending Packers and Brewers games with the "boys". Melvin took great pride in Scott’s career as a police officer with both the City of Milwaukee and the City of Franklin, and he was grateful to see his son retire after 27 years of service.
Melvin will be most dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Greenridge Chapel, 4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield, WI, on Friday, May 22, from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Melvin's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Wisconsin Humane Society.
