On Saturday, April 11, 2026 Michael Piedt, passed away at the age of 66. Though he is absent from the body he is now present with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8).
Mike was born on October 14, 1959 in Milwaukee, to Garneith and Margie Piedt. After graduating from Thomas Moore High School, he went on to become a “jack of all trades.” After years of struggles and trials, Mike became a follower of Jesus. He never hid his past since it exalted the grace of God in his life. The Milwaukee Rescue Mission held a special place in his heart because God used the program to help him follow Christ in sobriety. Therefore, he spent his final years giving back to others through the mission, working as the Pantry Supervisor. He also served in the Office of Deacon at CrossWay Community Church, from late 2017 until the Lord called him home. Virtually every Sunday morning he was one of the first to arrive at service, and one of the last to leave, laboring to set up and clean up.
Mike loved his family. He loved history, coins, books, camping, and long bike rides to praise God for His creation. And He loved God’s word, which he faithfully read every day.
Mike will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by Donna Piedt and both parents. He is survived by his daughters, Katrina, Aimee, and Michelle, 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters with an 8th on the way.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Max A. Sass & Sons, at 1515 W Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53215, from 11:00am-1:00pm, with a funeral service at 1:00pm. Refreshments to follow at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, at 830 N 19th St, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
