Norma Miriam Engman was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on February 3, 1931, and passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 95, with her daughters lovingly by her side. Norma lived a long and full life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a homemaker and later retired from Briggs and Stratton after 20 years of dedicated service. She was proud of her Chippewa Native American ancestry and held cherished artifacts close, honoring a meaningful part of who she was. In her later years, Norma fondly remembered the young love she shared with her husband, Anthony Engman. They were married on April 16, 1948, and shared more than 50 years together. She also treasured memories of her childhood, including helping raise her younger siblings and later raising six of her children into adulthood.

Norma will be remembered for the deep love she gave to her children and family, for the memories she helped create, and for the joy she found in the companionship of her beloved cats and dogs. Her home and heart were filled with laughter, resilience, devotion, and the everyday moments that made her life so meaningful. Those who knew her will carry forward the warmth of her spirit and the many ways she showed love through simple, lasting acts of care.

Norma’s life was shaped by the family she loved and the family who loved her in return. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Engman; her parents, Maxine and Norman Sprague. She was one of seven siblings: Carol Euler (Rueban, deceased); Donald Sprague deceased (Toddy); Gerald Sprague (Loretta, deceased); Beverly Moll (Jack); Ronald Sprague (Kay, deceased); Sandy Humphrey (Kent, both deceased); and Diane Jenkins (David, deceased).

She was the loving mother of seven children: Doris Engman (deceased); Darryl Engman (deceased; Char); Janet Peroceschi (Jack, deceased); Bruce Engman (deceased); Annette Peroceschi (James Sr., deceased); Lorelie Woodcock (Larry); and Arlyn Engman (Bonnie).

Her legacy continued through her eight grandchildren: James Peroceschi Jr.; Jacob Peroceschi (Jessica); Dena Peroceschi-Sprain (Brian); Blake Engman (Daniel); Nicholas Engman (Elizabeth); Michelle Stampa (Steve); Paula Zastrow; and Kevin Zastrow (LeAnn).

Norma was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren: Evangeline Peroceschi, Isabella Peroceschi, Chance Sprain, Grace Peroceschi, Ophelia Engman, Jackson Engman, Josephine Engman, Hannah Poull, Caleb Stampa, Jay Jay Rico, Francisco Rico and Steffanie Peterson-Tanner.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a service immediately following at noon, on Saturday, September 26th, at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, W173S7629 Westwood Dr., Muskego, WI 53150. Consistent with Norma’s wishes, pizza, wings, and beer will be served in her honor, please ask family or funeral director for details.

Norma’s 95 years were filled with love, strength, family, and memories that will continue to be cherished by all generations. She leaves behind a legacy rooted in devotion, resilience, and the quiet beauty of a long life lived with purpose. Though she will be dearly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that her memory will live on in the lives she shaped, the love she gave, and the lasting example she leaves behind.
