Norman H. Martinko

Norman H. Martinko, fondly known as Norm to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in Milwaukee, WI, on June 27, 2025. Born on August 6, 1939, in Morris, MN, Norm's life was marked by his warm sense of humor, his deep love for his family, and his passion for the outdoors.

Norm is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Gail, who has been his steadfast companion in life's journey. He will be missed by his loving family, which includes their daughters Wendy (Mark) Wasielewski, Cindy (Jerry) Downs, Lisa (Mike) Tomczak, and their sons Guy (Sheila) Martinko and Craig Baller. Norm also leaves behind his cherished brother Wayne Martinko and sister Patricia Goldberg, and brother-in-law Todd Ross, as well as a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose lives he touched with his humor and kindness. His grandchildren, nieces, and nephews will forever hold onto the precious memories of their time with Norm.

A proud graduate of South Milwaukee High School, Class of 1957, Norm's work ethic and friendly demeanor were well-known throughout his 30-year career as a route sales representative for Wonder Bread. After retiring, Norm's entrepreneurial spirit led him to run a favorite local gathering place, "Stormin Norman's" Sportsman's Bar in Wind Lake, where his patrons became extended family.

His love for his family was paralleled by his love for cooking, a skill that made family gatherings all the more special. An avid golfer, Norm could often be found on the greens, enjoying the game he loved. His fishing trips with his son-in-law Jerry were cherished times, filled with laughter and companionship.

In his younger years, Norm was an avid sportsman, engaging in various outdoor activities that reflected his love for nature. Those who knew Norm will remember the joy he found in sharing a couple of drinks with friends and family, always ensuring that everyone around him was having as good a time as he was.

Norm will be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest. His funny, loving, and friendly nature made him a beloved figure in his community and a source of joy to all who knew him. As we say goodbye to Norman H. Martinko, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind. His laughter, stories, and the warmth of his presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Norm's legacy is one of love, friendship, and the enduring bonds of family, which will forever be his greatest accomplishment.

Visitation will be held at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Rd, Wind Lake, WI 53185, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
