Oliver Franklin "Frank" Gardipee, aged 77, passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 30, 2025, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 20, 1947, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Frank was a man of unwavering faith, remarkable courage, and selflessness that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Frank was the beloved husband of Georgia Gardipee, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of 58 years. Together, they created a legacy of love and commitment that served as an inspiration to many. He was a devoted father to his children, Edward (Karen), Susan, Pamela (Emisael), and Debra, who will forever cherish his memory and the wisdom he imparted.
Affectionately known as Papa, Frank's grandchildren, Josephine (Zachary) Geitz, Oliver Jordan (Kirsten) Gardipee, Anthony (Victoria) Brooks, Bret (Carrigan) Gardipee, Alyssa (Carson) Seeber, Nicholas (Lindsey) Montijo, and Trevaun Hyde, adored him. His great-grandchildren, Owen Geitz, Oliver Berther, Abigail Geitz, Esther Brooks, and the soon-to-arrive Eleanor Brooks, were his pride and joy.
Preceded in death by his parents, Oliver C. Gardipee and V. Christine (Watson) Gardipee, and his older brother, Joseph Gardipee, Frank is now reunited with them in eternal peace. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings Linda (Mark) Potter, John (Kristen) Gardipee, Jeffrey (Cindy) Gardipee, and Cindy (George) Bock. His best friend and road trip companion, Dennis (Denny) Beard, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and friends, will miss his warm presence and spirited conversations.
Frank was a proud alumnus of Bay View High School, where he graduated before embarking on a career that showcased his mechanical genius. He made his mark as a skilled mechanic and a published writer, renowned for his innovative work in converting diesel engines to gas engines in vehicles during the 1980s. His intellectual curiosity and inventive spirit were hallmarks of his professional life.
A man of deep spiritual conviction, Frank dedicated time to studying the Bible and imparting its teachings to those around him. His home was a place of fellowship and laughter, where family gatherings were cherished, and memories were made. Frank's life was a testament to the values he held dear, and his legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those he influenced.
