Orville Rosentreter

Orville Rosentreter, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

He was born on October 21, 1955, in Munich, Germany, to the late Orville Rosentreter, Sr. and Irmgard (Dexler) Weidel. As an infant, he immigrated with his family to the United States, where he would go on to build a full and meaningful life. On June 9, 1979, he married his former wife, Laurie Dixon and that marriage gave them three loving children.

Orville’s greatest and most cherished accomplishment was being a father. Above all else, he placed his children at the center of his life, a role he embraced with pride, dedication, and unwavering love.

A true outdoorsman, Orville found joy in nature through fishing and boating, always appreciating the simple pleasures of the outside world. By trade, he was a skilled carpenter who owned and operated his own business, building homes with care and craftsmanship. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends and working on cars, a testament to his hands-on talent and creativity. He was known as a hard worker who took pride in everything he did.

Orville will be remembered for his quick wit, playful spirit, and great sense of humor. He had a knack for making others laugh and brought lightness to those around him.

He is survived by his children, Alice “Allie” Cook, Joseph Rosentreter, and James Rosentreter; his beloved grandchildren, Noah, Charlotte, Lyla, Grace, Audrey, Jacob, Devin, and Avery; his siblings, Karen, Brian, and Michael; as well as many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Rosentreter.
