Patricia G. "Pat" Peck (née Gazzolo) peacefully departed this life on October 17, 2026, at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of Richard Marshall, with whom she shared 40 years of love and companionship.
Born on May 5, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the eldest daughter of Frank Dudley and Teresa (née Miroballi) Gazzolo. After finishing high school, Pat relocated to Milwaukee, WI, to pursue her nursing studies at Marquette University, graduating in 1959.
Pat devoted the majority of her professional career to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, where she served for 20 years as one of the state’s pioneering Infection Control officers, all while nurturing her family. In 1989, she and Richard moved to Florida to take advantage of a longer sailing season.
Throughout her life, Pat embraced an active lifestyle, enjoying biking, tennis, racquetball, bowling, and walking. She had a remarkable sense of adventure and a love for travel with Richard, delighting in the opportunity to explore the country by sailboat, trawler, and motor home. Lighthouses were particularly dear to her, and she treasured the excitement of discovering new places along her journeys.
Always eager to remain engaged, Pat faced each new chapter of life with enthusiasm. After retiring from her role in Infection Control, she continued to stay active by taking on various positions, including roles at a bank, a health club, and in administration at Florida Atlantic University. In 2014, Pat and Richard left Florida and moved to Colorado to be closer to family before returning to the Milwaukee area in 2019 to be near other loved ones.
Her life was devoted to caring for her family, and she found her greatest joy in being present for her loved ones. She was a loving mother to Steve (Heather) Peck, Chris (Patty) Peck, Douglas Peck, Veronica Horn, and Michele Peck, as well as a devoted stepmother to Renee (the late Dave) Knight, Kathy (the late Curt) Block, and Tim (Lori) Marshall. Pat was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother who will be fondly remembered by her family.
She was also a dear sister to Frank (Kathleen) Gazzolo and Terry DeCault. Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Penny (the late John) Pito. She will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends, all of whom will hold her memory close to their hearts.
Pat will always be lovingly remembered for her commitment to her family, her adventurous nature, her unmatched organizational abilities, and her resolve to seize every day. The warmth she brought and the memories she made with her loved ones will be treasured for many years ahead.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Mission Hills Chapel, 8910 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin, on Monday, November 30, 2026, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, with a service at 12:30 PM.
