Paula Kay Espurvoa

July 24, 1940–September 15, 2026

Paula Kay Espurvoa (Luttrell), age 86, of Muskego, Wisconsin, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Born July 24th, 1940 in Honey Grove, Texas to John William Luttrell, and Georgia Kate Luttrell (Paul), Paula was an avid horsewoman in high school, barrel racing in local rodeos and participated in several local rodeo pageants. Following high school, she studied at East Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas, earning a BFA in Studio Art with a minor in education.

She moved to Brownsville, Texas, to teach, met her future husband, David Espurvoa, Jr., a mathematics teacher, and the two were married on December 20, 1964. Throughout her career, Paula taught art lessons at her home studio to both adults and children and was a featured artist in national and local art exhibitions, including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Her work consisted of oil paintings considered both “surreal” and “abstract,” and done in both large and small format.

She eventually earned an M.Ed in Special Education and, following a brief career as a real estate agent, returned to her calling as a Special Education teacher at Resaca Elementary School until her retirement.After retiring, she eventually moved to Muskego, Wisconsin to be closer to her son and grandson. She is survived by her son, David Espurvoa III, Muskego, WI, a daughter-in-law, Amanda Espurvoa, Muskego, WI, and a grandson, Alexander David Philip Espurvoa, Plymouth, MN

A private memorial service will be held by family, and they would like to thank extended family members and friends for their kind prayers and sympathy.
