Pearl Helena Copp

Copp, Pearl Helena (Nee Smith). Age 90. Pearl resided in Boulder Junction and most recently Mukego. She was sung to heaven by family on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Tudor Oaks Retirement Community. She was born in Hendricks County, Indiana to Samuel and Helen Smith. While attending West Middleton High School, she met and married Frederic Copp. She graduated in 1943. Pearl served and loved wherever she was. From building 4-H booths at Indiana fairs, plowing fields, gathering eggs from 3, 000 chickens, hosting guests at Copp's Cabins in Boulder Junction, serving the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as Sunday School organizer and teacher, elder, clerk of session, Moderator of the Presbytery of Northern Waters, Moderator of Presbyterial, editor of newsletters, choir member, Guild member and Commissioned Lay Pastor serving in the UP of Michigan, plus baker of wedding cakes, logger, sawmill hand, 40 year volunteer at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, painter, seamstress, gardener (best potatoes ever), loving and devoted wife for 69 years, to loving family and those she knew, she was awesome. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederic and infant son David. Pearl is survived by daughter Janet (Paul) Ahrens and son Bruce (Jill) Copp; grandchildren Sarah Ahrens (Ryan Erisman), Samuel (Allison) Ahrens, Laura (Nathan) Kooistra, David Copp, Susan (Eric) Tanberg; great grandchildren Hazel and Karsten Erisman, Jack Tanberg and Frederic Ahrens; brother Meredith Smith of Indianapolis and sister Patricia Good of Greenfield; and other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Manitowish Waters Community Presbyterian Church in Manitowish Waters, WI on Friday, August 28 at 1:30PM. A second Memorial Service will be held at Tudor Oaks Retirement Community in Muskego, WI on Saturday, September 5 at 1:00PM.
