Petronila “Tata” Lebron, age 91, of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Tata was born on April 29, 1935, in Puerto Rico, to the late Andres and Jacobina (Vazquez) Rios. At the young age of 15, she married the love of her life, Jose Lebron Sr., and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 2016.

Tata was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving, kind, humble, and strong-willed woman who was cherished by everyone who knew her. She had a special way of making people feel loved and welcomed. Family was the center of Petronila’s life, and she took great pride in caring for and bringing her loved ones together. She had many simple joys in life. Tata loved cooking traditional Puerto Rican food for her family, crocheting, and getting her nails done.

Tata is survived by her daughter, Milagros (Angel) Santos; grandchildren, Militza Andino, Luis Andino, and Jessica (William) Van Bennekom; great-grandchildren, Alexis Buth, Christian Corujo, Jacob Van Bennekom, Angelo Andino, and Alana Andino; and great-great-grandchildren, Mason Buth-Mora and Dominic Andino-Crespo.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Lebron Sr. “Pepe”, and her son, Jose Lebron Jr. “Popa”

Petronila will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on through the generations she leaves behind.

Private services will be held. Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
