Richard Louis Bomberg passed away May 18th, 2026 in Franklin, Wisconsin. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra of 36 years, his sons Douglas (Madonna Ravet), David (Ellen Mossman), and Daniel. Preceded in death by his parents Hugo and Mary, and sister Mary Ann Buckman. Further survived by a sister Jean Hausig (Michael) and brothers Fred and James (Carol), parents-in-law Dan and Barbara Steele, nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws and many friends.

Always a Milwaukee area boy, Richard was born on June 27th, 1935 to a bakery family where he was proud to say he worked alongside his father until Richard retired from bakeries at age 21. He was schooled at St. Rose where he was an altar server and safety cadet. He started his day with a morning newspaper route with 59 dailies in a 15 square block area. He moved on to West Allis Nathan Hale High School where he played ball (not very well) and was senior class treasurer – “having balanced books”. Richard graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in Finance and minor in Philosophy. He was president of his professional commerce fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and chairman of the Men’s Hall Association Judicial Board. After college he served as an officer in the U.S. Army. In 1958 he joined Paine Webber Jackson & Curtis. He attended the Wharton School Finance Executive Program. In 1979 he became a Certified Financial Planner. In 1990 Richard moved to Baird where he spent 21 more years helping investors as Senior Vice President in its Wealth Management Division. He was blessed with an infectious sense of humor, a lifetime of appreciative clients, intelligent colleagues and warm friendships.

Richard and Sandra spent much of his retirement traveling, both domestically and abroad, and continued to enjoy family, friends and life.
