Born on December 8, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dick spent his entire life in the city that he loved, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and a joy for life that touched everyone he knew.

Dick attended South Division High School, graduating in the class of 1965. His love of learning and commitment to personal growth led him to continue his education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cardinal Stritch College. Dick's educational journey was a testament to his belief in the power of knowledge and the importance of lifelong learning.

Professionally, Dick was known for his astute business acumen and genuine customer care. He began his career at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where he excelled as a district sales manager for 15 years. His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for sales led him to Furniture Clearance in Mequon, and he concluded his career at Appliance World in Greenfield. Colleagues and clients alike will remember Dick for his integrity, reliability, and the warmth he brought to every interaction.

Dick's life was marked by a deep love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Robin Herrmann, and their loving daughter, Vanessa (Scott) Schmoll. Dick took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Evan and Eric, cherishing every moment spent with them. He also leaves behind his brother, Dennis (Mary Jo) Herrmann, and sister-in-law, Louise (Ted) Rehl, and his uncle Roger Genskow, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends who will miss his kindhearted presence.

A man of many interests, Dick had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid reader of the newspaper, keeping himself informed and engaged with the world around him. Bicycling was not just a hobby but a way for him to connect with nature and maintain his vitality. Dick's dedication to his yard and lawn was evident in the meticulous care he took in tending to his home, creating a welcoming space for family and friends.

For Dick, Door County held a special place in his heart as his favorite vacation spot. He visited this beloved destination for more than 50 years, each trip adding to a tapestry of memories filled with exploration and relaxation. In his earlier years, Dick enjoyed camping and always found solace in the great outdoors, whether it was through a reflective hike or a leisurely walk.

Above all, Dick was loving, faith-filled, and thoughtful. His approach to life was characterized by an unwavering commitment to his values and the people he held dear. Dick's legacy is one of love, service, and the gentle imprint he left on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

In his passing, Dick leaves behind a world that was undoubtedly made brighter by his presence. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, January 26th, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:30 AM, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 9235 W. Bluemound Rd. Milwaukee, WI 53226
