Richard R. Maehl, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on June 11, 1939, and lived a life rich with love, joy, and a passion for sports.
Richard dedicated a significant portion of his career to Square D, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. His contributions to the company were a testament to his commitment and diligence.
Throughout his life, Richard found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending weekends on the green. His love for baseball was evidenced by his role as an umpire for both youth and men's leagues, showcasing not only his skills but also his passion for fostering the spirit of the game. Richard also found pleasure in playing softball and bowling, activities that allowed him to enjoy time with friends and family while reveling in the spirit of competition.
Richard was married to Lee Lorraine for an admirable 45 years, a partnership marked by devotion and mutual respect. Together, they built a family that thrives on love and togetherness. He is survived by children: son Jeffrey (Josephine) Maehl, daughter Kimberly Tuska, and son Steven (Cynthia) Maehl. He took great pride in being a grandfather to Hannah, Tabitha, Olivia, and Connor, as well as a great-grandfather to Gracelyn and Kashton.
Richard is also remembered by his sister Judy, who held a special place in his heart.
Visitation will be held on January 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Greenridge Chapel, located at 4747 S. 60th Street, Greenfield, WI 53220.
