Rick will be remembered as a man of warmth, humor, and deep devotion to the people he loved most.

Richard A. “Rick” Stoddard passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on October 22, 2026, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He was born on June 22, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Rick will be remembered as a man of warmth, humor, and deep devotion to the people he loved most. He had a good sense of humor, and his dad jokes brought laughter to family gatherings and everyday moments alike. Among his proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren, who brought him great joy and remained at the center of his life.

He was a graduate of Brookfield Central High School, Class of 1980, and of WCTC, with an Associate Degree in Applied Science, Supermarket Management, Class of 1983. Rick worked in the family business, Dan’s West Allis Foods, until 2000, He held two other Management positions through the years with other companies but his favorite position was as the Manager of the Men’s Department at Von Maur in Brookfield from 2018 until his retirement in June 2026. Through his work, he built lasting connections and carried himself with the same steady dedication that marked so many parts of his life.

Rick embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He was a huge Disney fan, loved plants, enjoyed collecting coins, and was a true Lego enthusiast. He found happiness in hiking, camping, canoeing, and spending time outdoors.  He loved motorcycling, traveling and cruising. His generosity was evident in the ways he gave of himself to others, serving as a current volunteer at RiverGlen Christian Church and as Boy Scout Leader and Scoutmaster with Oak Creek Troop 221 until 2009. Rick was also an animal lover; especially dogs, cats and raccoons, he enjoyed all furry creatures.
