Richard C. Wenzel “Rick”, 78, passed away on May 7, 2025. Born on October 31, 1946, to Richard and Dorothy Wenzel, Rick lived a life marked by service, strength, and deep love for his family and the outdoors.

Rick was a proud Vietnam War veteran who served with honor and resilience in the United States Marine Corps and was a recipient of The Purple Heart. After the war, Rick was employed at Harley Davidson from where he retired. That same strength carried through his life as a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Charlene Wenzel and his son Richard G. (Jody) Wenzel.

Rick is survived by his children Christopher (Barbara) Wenzel, Heidi (Chris) Engel, and Andrew (Nicole) Wenzel, and by his cherished grandchildren Dylanger, Tyler, Hunter, Brianna, and Easton. He was known for his deep appreciation of nature, his quiet strength, and the unwavering companionship of his loyal dog, Hootie.

Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Mission Hills Chapel (8910 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin) on Wednesday, May 14th starting at 10AM until time of the funeral service at 1PM. Private family interment at a later date.
