Robert C. Mattila, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 2, 2025, at the age of 74 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on January 21, 1951, in Wisconsin, Robert lived a life rich in love and adventure.

Robert was a devoted family man, lovingly survived by his wife, Nancy Mattila. He took great pride in being a father to his beloved children: Scott (Amy), Steven (Laura), Mark (Normandy), and Kelli (David) Peters. His role as a proud grandfather brought him immense joy, with grandchildren Everett, Jaxon, Bode, Willow, and Lincoln, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and enthusiasm.

He was the beloved brother of the late Frances (the late Gerald) Kaniewski, the late Richard (Lillian), the late Norman (the late LaDona), Jeanette (Charles) Stumpf, Kathleen (Larry) Deibert, George (Karen), and Donna (Dennis) Hart. His family also welcomed him as a cherished brother-in-law to Karl Bethke, Deborah (Robert) Klein, and Donna (David) Vanness. Robert's connections extended into the lives of many nieces, nephews, and close friends, each of whom cherished the time spent with him.

Robert had a profound appreciation for the great outdoors. He enjoyed hiking and camping, often sharing these experiences with his family and friends. His passion for remodeling and old vehicles showcased his creative spirit and dedication to improvement. A notable aspect of Robert's life was his active participation in the Boy Scouts, where he dedicated time and effort alongside his children and grandchildren, fostering a sense of adventure and community.

Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Alvina, Robert’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His warm presence, adventurous spirit, and loving nature will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
