Ronald L. Meleski November 26, 1930 – May 16, 2026

While approaching the midpoint of his 95th year of life, Ronald “Ron” Meleski was reunited with his beloved wife, Dorothy—known to many as “Dolly” and “GiGiMa”—after eighteen years of wearing her angel pin close to his heart. A pillar of his family, Ron was a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and “Gigipop,” the special name lovingly given to him by his great‑grandchildren.

True to his faith, Ron lived as a good neighbor and a steady presence, looking after those around him with the same care and constancy as a shepherd tending his flock. After graduating from Boys Tech (now Milwaukee Tech), he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and went on to serve as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. His service took him around the world, and he worked as an electrical specialist during the Berlin Airlift—an experience that shaped both his skill and his sense of duty.

Following his military service, Ron began his long career with the Wisconsin Electric Power Company. Starting as a troubleman—now known as a troubleshooter—he literally climbed his way up the poles and through the ranks, ultimately becoming a power system supervisor. His work ethic was unwavering, and he carried that same dedication into every corner of his life.

A believer in the power of routine, Ron lived each day with intention. He took impeccable care of his mind, body, and home. He loved crossword puzzles, lifting weights, and reading. He played the accordion, sang in his church choir, and was an avid golfer. He knew how to enjoy life, how to live well, and he continued to grow, adapt, and evolve with each passing year.

Ron may have left this realm, but his legacy is love—and Ron’s love lives on.

He is survived by-Judy, daughter and Jim Cappleman, grandson Ryan and great grand puppy Dolly Cappleman and granddaughter, Mandy and children, nieces, nephews, sister and brother in law and friends.

“You get to have martinis with Gramma tonight… and a whole score of other beloveds. I will miss you every day, and forever try to continue your legacy of generosity, kindness, hard work, love, family, and music. Grampa, I love you.”
