Ruben J. Navarro

Ruben J. Navarro, a beloved figure known for his generosity and vibrant spirit, passed away on June 21, 2025, in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, at the age of 97. Born on April 13, 1928, in Wisconsin, Ruben's life was a tapestry of accomplishments, deep connections, and a legacy of kindness.

Ruben's career as a Pattern Maker at Bucyrus-Erie was by his meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to his craft. His education at a trade school equipped him with the skills that would define his professional life, showcasing his commitment to excellence.

A proud veteran, Ruben served in the US Army during World War II, stationed in the Pacific Theater. His service to his country instilled in him a sense of duty and pride that remained with him throughout his life.

Beyond his professional and military achievements, Ruben was an accomplished musician. His talents on the saxophone, clarinet, singing and emceeing were a testament to his passion for music, bringing joy to those around him. His band was The Skyliners and he was also leader of the Wilson Knights. A true "social butterfly", he was always willing to help others, reflecting a personality that endeared him to many.

Ruben is survived by his devoted children, Ramona (Thomas) and Timothy (Roberta), who continue to honor his memory. He was a cherished grandpa to Jason (Katie), Stephanie, Samantha, Rachael (Jim), Jessica (Adam), and Elisabeth (Jakob), and proud great-grandfather to Ruby, Violet, Clara, and Archer. His extended family, including Diane Stroebel, Katherine and Gerald Abshire, held a special place in his heart.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Ethel, whose nurturing spirit and talents complemented Ruben's vibrant personality. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Bonificio and Maria, his sisters, Frances and Dora, his sister-in-law Dorothy Wagner, and is remembered fondly by his siblings, Dolores and Ramon (Ursela).

As a man who excelled in athletics, especially in football, baseball, golf, and bowling, Ruben’s zest for life was infectious. His pride in his "family" accomplishments, both personal and professional, served as an inspiration to all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) appreciated.
