Salvatore A. Corrao, affectionately known to many as “Tudy,” “Ted,” “Sal,” and “Sam,” passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the age of 92. He was born on August 15, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and he lived his life with a steady spirit, a warm heart, and a deep love for the people and places that shaped him.

Salvatore was reunited in eternal peace with his loving wife of 46 years, Karen Corrao, née Krieg, as well as with his beloved parents, the late Andrew and Concetta Corrao. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Frank (deceased); Rosalie and the late Richard Taticek; Teresa and the late John Klein; Gloria and the late James Shepard; and Joe and Kathie. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, neighbors, the Wilson Park Senior Center family, and many dear friends whose lives were brightened by his presence.

Salvatore was a proud Army Veteran who served his country with honor. He later dedicated many years of faithful service to the United States Postal Service, where he was known for his perfect attendance and dependable work ethic. He was also a business owner, and throughout his working life he carried himself with responsibility, integrity, and quiet pride. Those who knew him understood that he believed in doing a job well and in meeting life with perseverance and dignity.

A spiritual man, Salvatore lived with gratitude and a simple, sincere faith in the goodness of life and the promise of peace beyond this world. He found joy in companionship, laughter, and the everyday blessings of family and friendship. He loved his family and friends deeply, and he had a way of making others feel welcome and at ease. His smile was constant, his humor was memorable, and his presence brought light to every room he entered.

Salvatore enjoyed life in many ways, and he never lost his appreciation for the pleasures that made each day special. He was an avid Sheepshead player and enjoyed gambling, always with a lively spirit and a good-natured grin. He loved tractor shows, flea markets, and auctions, where he could browse, laugh, and enjoy the company of others. He was a jokester at heart, and he especially loved spending time in his garage tinkering, where his hands and mind were always busy with some project or another. One of his favorite joys was riding around the block on his mobility scooter, waving and laughing with his neighbors, a simple routine that reflected his cheerful nature and his love for community.

Among the many memories cherished by his family, one especially beloved tradition was Salvatore’s favorite meal, his sister Teresa’s spaghetti and meatballs, made from their mother’s recipe. Salvatore was extremely proud of his Sicilian heritage. Meals were more than food to him. It was a reminder of home.

Salvatore’s life was a blessing to those who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him. His long life was marked by hard work, humor, devotion, and an unmistakable warmth that touched many. Though he will be deeply missed, his family and friends take comfort in knowing that he has gone home to the Lord and is now at peace, reunited with those who went before him.

May Salvatore A. Corrao rest in eternal peace, and may his loved ones be sustained by the many memories of his kindness, laughter, and faithful spirit.

A special thank you to the staff at St. Francis Hospital and the Accent Care Hospice team.
