In Loving Memory of Steve Saxton 

May 13, 1962 – November 13, 2025 

The world got a little quieter — and a lot less rock ’n’ roll — when Steve Saxton of Caledonia, WI, passed away at age 63. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Steve lived his life with the volume up, the jukebox loaded, and his heart wide open. 

A true music lover, Steve could name nearly any tune within the first few notes — and he’d probably tell you a story about the band, too. Though his taste spanned all genres, rock ’n’ roll was his first love (right after his wife, Jill). Whether he was at a concert, spinning records, or just tapping along in the kitchen, he believed life was better with a good beat. 

Steve was fiercely loyal, endlessly generous, and protective of the people he loved. His friends knew him as the guy who’d give you his last dollar or his last beer — depending on what you needed most. He made everyone around him feel like family, and his actual family knew that beneath the jokes and playlists was the most devoted husband, brother, and uncle anyone could ask for.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jill Saxton; sister Susan (Gregory) Gibbs; brother Neil (Bridget) Saxton; and sister-in-law Dolly Saxton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rose Saxton, and by his beloved brother Patrick Saxton. His memory will also be cherished by nieces Jessica (Thad) Belitz, Natalie (Josh) Wolfal, Tiffany (Derek Langston) Hollenbeck; nephews Zachary (Amanda) Saxton, Jacob (Molly Schreihart) Saxton, Daniel Saxton, Micah Saxton, and Patrick Saxton; mother-in-law Mary (James Konek) Ryan; father-inlaw Joseph (Sally) Ryan; sister-in-law Dawn Regenbogen; brother-in-law Kevin Ryan; lifelong best friend Gary (Cathy) Carrillo; and a host of other friends—far too many to name—whose lives he touched. 

Steve loved concerts, a well-stocked jukebox, and the kind of evenings that stretched late with laughter, stories, and good friends. He’ll be remembered for his humor, his kindness, his loyalty, and the way he made every gathering just a little more fun. 

So, in true Steve fashion — turn the music up, raise a glass, and tell your favorite story about him. He’d want the laughter to drown out the tears.
