Spencer, Strauther C. "Spence" After a long and beautiful life of 90 years, the Heavenly Father gently knocked on Strauther Spencer's door on January 23, 2014; and he answered with a faith filled heart in his home he so loved. He will be deeply missed by Frances Spencer (nee Fugarino) his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, as well as his daughters Donna (Michael) Butz and Debbie (Gus) Amann. His legacy will be carried on by his precious grandchildren, Ryan (Beth), Nick (Kim), Michael (Mandie), Sara and Luke (Ashley Hanley) and his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Nicky, Nellie, Spencer and Henry. Strauther is preceded in death by his parents John P. and Lena Spencer, brothers Zack, Kay and Chet. He is further survived by his sister Lizzy Ingram, family members and friends. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his deceased brothers-in-law Jack and Albert. Spence worked at Harnischfeger for 40 years where he made many long lasting friends. We will all miss his singing, poetry and quick witt. Visitation at the Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel on Thursday, January 30 from 4-6:30 pm with an evening prayer service.
