Susan Rae “Sue” Bartelt (née Schwittay), of Muskego, Wisconsin, was called home to the Lord on December 20, 2025, at the age of 73.
Sue was born on June 23, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the beloved daughter of Raymond and Edna Schwittay. She graduated from West Allis Central High School and went on to dedicate 30 years of faithful service to Briggs & Stratton, where she was known for her strong work ethic and reliability.
For 28 years, Sue shared a loving marriage with her husband and constant companion, Ronald Lee Bartelt. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, service, and community. Sue was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Muskego, where she faithfully attended Bible Study and weekly worship services. She found joy in serving alongside Ron. Together, Ron and Sue held fond memories of working in the kitchen for the church picnic and the chicken dinner—simple acts of service that reflected their shared love for church family and fellowship. Sue also found joy in helping prepare coffee for Bible study, welcoming others with her quiet dedication and kind spirit.
Sue is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Lee Bartelt, and her sister, Judith Ann Dominic. She will also be deeply missed by her friends and neighbors whose lives were enriched by her warmth, kindness, and steady presence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edna Schwittay.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, S66W14325 Janesville Road, Muskego, Wisconsin 53150, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. A light luncheon will follow the service in the Grace Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted for the St. Paul’s Building Furniture Fund.
May the promise of Christ’s resurrection bring comfort and peace to all who mourn Sue’s passing, and may her memory remain a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
