Thomas Mark
Pietrzak
May 10, 1958 — Jul 5, 2026
Thomas “Tom” M. Pietrzak, 68, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2026, at his home. A lifelong resident of Greendale, Wisconsin, Tom was born on May 10, 1958, in Milwaukee to the late Elroy and Joyce (Wussow) Pietrzak.
Tom was a proud graduate of Greendale High School, class of 1976. He went on to study civil engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a field that became his lifelong profession. Tom dedicated more than two decades of his career as an engineer for Harley-Davidson, where his intellect and dedication left a lasting impact.
A man of quiet passions and immense knowledge, Tom was a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction. He could often be found in his favorite spot – sitting in his garden, lost in a good book. He possessed a profound love for the city of Milwaukee. Preferring to walk and explore every corner of the city, Tom was an avid user of public transportation and held an encyclopedic knowledge of Milwaukee’s bus routes. This allowed him to passionately pursue his interests in the city’s architectural history, its vibrant cultural festivals, and its diverse culinary scene.
Tom’s resilience was truly defined later in life. After being struck by a car and critically injured, he fought through a grueling recovery. He then selflessly dedicated his retirement years to caring for his mother and father before their passing.
Tom is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Elroy and Joyce. He is survived by his brothers, Timothy (Shannon) Pietrzak and Todd Pietrzak, and his sister, Wendy Pietrzak. He is further survived by his nephew, Luke, and niece, Helena, as well as a community of dear friends, co-workers, and longtime neighbors.
Funeral Information: Private Christian service at Max A. Sass & Sons. Interment will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery, where he will be buried next to his loving parents, Elroy and Joyce.
