Wally Sterner, age 86, of Franklin, WI, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026, surrounded by the ones he loved.

Wally was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family and the time spent with those closest to him. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening, especially tending to his hostas. He also looked forward to getting together twice a week for coffee with his good friends, sharing conversation and friendship.

Wally had a love for travel, adventure, and staying active. Some of his favorite destinations included Door County, Mexico, and going on cruises. He enjoyed hiking, was an avid tennis player, and loved downhill skiing. He was always eager to learn something new and had a wealth of knowledge.

Wally will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara; his children, Ann (Ross), Christopher (Wendy), Matthew (Marlo), Susan (Kasey), and Heidi; his grandchildren, Ross “Tyler” (Kenzie), Joshua, Benjamin, Cole, Cade, Madison (Joe), and Bailey (Danny); his great-grandchild, Callan; and his brother, Al (Ro).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Marion, and his granddaughter, Hailee.

Wally leaves behind a lifetime of memories, knowledge, laughter, and love that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
