William “Bill” Lee Lombard passed away on October 13, 2026, in Greendale, Wisconsin, at the age of 87. He was born on June 18, 1939, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. On the day of his passing, he was surrounded by close and immediate family, who shared meaningful and loving final moments with him.

Bill will be remembered as a quiet, selflessly caring, optimistic, humble and dedicated man. He was a good man, traditional in his roots and forward-thinking for the future. Those who knew him understood the depth of his character in the way he lived: with steadiness, devotion, and love for the people and pursuits that mattered most to him.

He proudly served in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and commitment. He went on to work for the City of Milwaukee as an arborist for more than 30 years. His career suited him well, as he was extremely hard working, enjoyed nature and time spent outdoors. Bill’s appreciation for the natural world was a lasting part of who he was, and it remained closely connected to the way he spent his life.

Among Bill’s greatest joys were the three loves that defined so much of his life: his family, motorcycles, and skiing. Whether enjoying time with those he loved or pursuing the activities that brought him happiness, he embraced life with enthusiasm and heart.

Above all, Bill was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Diane Lombard, and by his daughters, Dawn (Mark Grabowski) Lombard and Jill (Mike) Tobin. He was a beloved grandpa to Lorelei (Michael Skeffington) Grabowski, Nikolai Grabowski, Annelise Grabowski, William Grabowski, Kevin (Jessica) Tobin, and Brad (Danielle) Tobin. He was also a proud great-grandpa to Kelsey. Bill is further survived by his twin sister, Betty Walsh, and his brother, James (Karen) Lombard.

Bill’s family was the center of his life, and the love he gave them will remain a lasting gift. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
