William John “Bill” Potrykus, Sr

Born February 18, 1942 – Entered eternal life, May 10, 2026

Survived by his loving daughter Laura (Jeff) Anderson, grandsons Ryan (Aly) Wisch, and Adam Dzievit, great granddaughters Kennedy and Madison, siblings Edward (Nicki) Potrykus, and Lynn Marie (Mark) Apriesnig. Further survived by his former wife and mother of his two children, Lynne Ann, as well as all his gym buds and many friends made throughout his lifetime. Preceded in death by his beloved son William Jr, and siblings Joyce, Patricia, Tom, Kathleen, and Lee Robert.

Bill was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Eventually, after marriage, he and his family moved to East Troy to enjoy small town life. Many years later, he relocated to Sun Prairie, then eventually landed in Waunakee, where he lived until a few months prior to his passing.

Bill was a truck driver for nearly his entire working life, a career he truly enjoyed. He was a motorhead and loved all things classic cars. He could recite every make and model of car he ever owned and always felt free to share his advice on what cars you should buy. He loved animals and had a special place in his heart for his beloved horses, Smokey and Levi, and dog Molly.

We will miss his many stories about the good old days, as well as his terrific sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to a local horse rescue or humane society in Bill’s name.

Rest in peace Dad, and we’ll see you at the gym.

Visitation Wednesday, May 20, 2026 10:00 am-11:30 am at Max A Sass & Sons Funeral Home, 4747 S 60th St, Greenfield. Funeral service at 11:30 AM. Burial to follow at St Adalbert Cemetery, 3801 S 6th St, Milwaukee.
