Yolanda J. Van Alstine

Yolanda J. Van Alstine, of Waterford,  WI, age 81, passed away on Wednesday,  December 31, 2025, at Franklin Memory Care,in Franklin,  WI.

Yolanda was born the second youngest of nine children on April 10, 1944, in Linton, ND to Joseph and Mary Rohrich. After studying to become a nun for five years, Yolanda left the convent in North Dakota to live with her sister Irene and brother-in-law Dan Penoske in Wisconsin. A few year later she met her future husband Conrad "Connie" Van Alstine at Victor's nightclub in downtown Milwaukee. Yolanda and Connie were married 57 years, calling Waterford, Wisconsin their home for over 45 years. Yolanda was a custodian at the Waterford School District for 27 years. Yolanda was known for her huge heart, her sharp sense of humor, her sweet tooth, and her devotion to God. She loved laughing, searching for "deals" at rummage sales and thrift shops, playing the "slots" (and occasionally winning big), and spend time with family and friends. 

Yolanda is survived by her husband Connie, of Waterford,  WI; daughter,  Julie Van Alstine,  of Wauwatosa,  WI; son, Paul Van Alstine (Dawn) of Waterford,  WI, and their children,  Parker, Kendall and Preston; brother, Irv Rohrich (Dee), of Washington; brother, Clem Rohrich of Colorado, and many beloved relatives and friends. 

Yolanda Van Alstine's life will be celebrated during visitation on January 11, 2026, at 10 am to noon at Max Sass & Sons, 8910 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin, WI.
