Zena Cvinar, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in Muskego, Wisconsin, at the age of 78. Born on January 26, 1948, in New York City, Zena exemplified the vibrant spirit of a true native New Yorker. Over the years, her passion for life was evident through her many interests and connections, creating a legacy of love that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Zena leaves behind a loving family, including her husband Joe, her daughter Jenny (Ben), her grandchildren Ollie and Penelope, her sister Carol (Edward), her nephew Eddie, her niece Emily, and many other family and friends who will continue to celebrate her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Family was the cornerstone of Zena's identity. She found immense joy in every moment spent with her beloved husband Joe, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage. Her daughter, Jenny, and son-in-law, Ben, brought her pride beyond measure, and she reveled in every milestone shared with her grandchildren, Ollie and Penelope, whose laughter and smiles brought light to her life.
Zena was more than a devoted family member; she was a woman who embraced culture wherever she went. Her love for travel took her to all over the world, each adventure offering new experiences that further fueled her appreciation for art, theatre, museums, and restaurants. Zena was proud graduate who returned to college later in life to earn her Associates degree.
An avid gardener, Zena found fulfillment tending to her plants and creating a nurturing environment for her family. Zena enjoyed spending time with family cooking her famed "Sunday Gravy," an embodiment of her love and dedication to her family traditions.
Zena’s career was marked by her remarkable contributions to an Emmy Award-winning television show, The Body Human. Zena was a woman of deep compassion and kindness, earning the respect and admiration of everyone she encountered.
As we bid farewell to Zena, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers over the last few years: Nicole, Lexi, Emma, and Max. Your support and dedication meant more than words can express, guiding Zena and her family through challenging times with grace.
A visitation will be held on March 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Leonard Catholic Church in Muskego, Wisconsin, offering those who loved her a chance to share in their cherished memories and honor a beautiful life well-lived. As we gather to remember Zena, let us carry her warmth and love forward in our hearts, knowing she will forever be a beacon of light in our lives.
